The results of the competition



Dear Architect,

We are pleased to announce you the evaluations of our jury. The jury was composed of the following five people:

We asked each member of the jury to send us her / his seven best projects choice. And the winners were determined by the number of votes received. The highest number of votes was received by the first prize, while the special mentions received one vote each.

Besides the deliberations of the jury, we also asked our collaborator, the Egyptian architect Shahira Hammad, to choose herself the best seven works, in her opinion. Four of her choices overlapped those of the jury, but three works were just hers. We believe that any jury is, by necessity, only partially "objective"... architecture is not a science, subjectivity is always present, often masked under the guise of "objectivity." This is why, any number of juries would arrive at slightly (at least) different results. In our case though there was a certain degree of unanimity... and this is how we arrived at the list with the winners.

The works chosen by Shahira, who represents ICARCH, receive "the other prize" award.

And to those who didn't receive an award, we want to thank with equal gratitude and we confess that it is very difficult to choose and that often good works get neglected... we hope to diminish this injustice by displaying all the works received with equal interest and affection. They can all be seen on our website and we thank all of the participants, for their heartfelt tribute to David Bowie.
