A HOUSE FOR EGON SCHIELE
It can only be fall in Schiele's paintings... The house of Fall... no spring, no summer, not even winter... all of the above preserve, while the fall brings melancholia, decay, everything moves downwards, the sun included...
It is the season of spiraling downwards... together with Schiele... and not even a frantic sexuality can save us.
Fall, dear architect, together with Schiele, descend, together with the rusted leaves of the trees, together with the rain that is beginning to pour, together with the dark clouds, closer and closer and darker and darker...!
The neurosis of life is inescapable... the trees are contorted, the houses are contorted, the bodies are contorted, and an exacerbated, sad sexuality is quite unable to help... Nothing at all can arrest the irrepressible, fatidic downwards spiraling...
A HOUSE FOR EGON SCHIELE
The House of "DEVIANT BEHAVIOR"
The HOUSE OF DEPRESSION
A trembling House...
A House in a frenzy...
A House on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
A House with fibrillations
A House with dead sunflowers in the windows.
A House with spread legs and red stockings
The house of di S con ti nuiti es
A House with red hair
A House with its lonely sex irrelevantly divulged
A House for a Cardinal and a Nun (caressed).
A House surrounded by leafless, trembling trees.
A House out of balance
The House of Lonely Sex (even when in two)
A House with Convulsions
A House with Febrile Seizures
A House with unste ady hands
A House in need of a psychiatrist
The House for hopeless lovemaking
The House for Staring at Each Other
The House of Emptiness
The House of Sex and Emptiness
The House of Sexless Words
The House of Wordless Sex
THE HOUSE OF ROTTEN FLOWERS
THE HOUSE OF CONTORTED BODIES
THE HOUSE OF FRENZIED, DESPERATE, LONELY (LOVELESS?) EROTICISM
THE HOUSE OF NEUROTIC TREES
THE HOUSE OF SCHISMATIC EMBRACES
THE HOUSE OF NEUROSIS
THE HOUSE OF PUTRID, LONELY S E X U A L I T Y
THE HOUSE OF DEPRESSION
THE HOUSE OF DEAD MOTHERS, BLIND MOTHERS, DEAD BLIND PREGNANT WOMEN...
A DEVIANT HOUSE...
In Schiele ONAN, MASOCH and deSADE meet with clinical precision and intensity.
Excess and Punishment.
What is the meaning of the word "delinquent...?"
Who is to decide to throw the stone, at the DELINQUENT...?
Who can do it, knowing all too well that the Son of God couldn't do it...?
But man can, and he does it.
But maybe he has some alibi... after all, it is not easy to be The Grand Inquisitor, on this earth.
It is probably much easier in Havens.
"DEVIANT BEHAVIOR" found a supreme example in Schiele's life and work.
But the Excess and Punishment of Schiele's life and work are well illustrated in the 1980s film with the same title by Herbert Vesely.
