It can only be fall in Schiele's paintings... The house of Fall... no spring, no summer, not even winter... all of the above preserve, while the fall brings melancholia, decay, everything moves downwards, the sun included...

It is the season of spiraling downwards... together with Schiele... and not even a frantic sexuality can save us.

Fall, dear architect, together with Schiele, descend, together with the rusted leaves of the trees, together with the rain that is beginning to pour, together with the dark clouds, closer and closer and darker and darker...!

The neurosis of life is inescapable... the trees are contorted, the houses are contorted, the bodies are contorted, and an exacerbated, sad sexuality is quite unable to help... Nothing at all can arrest the irrepressible, fatidic downwards spiraling...
