International Competitions in Architecture
A scaffolding reveals a continuous process of change in the body of the building. This design proposes a face inspired by the idea of mask reminiscent of the NY Broadway Theatre tradition. The face of the building becomes a slanted public park with the pediment anchored in the ground as a kind of arrow that tells the tale of the present, pointing down and reflecting about the past. This new public space in turn offers the audience a blank canvas where images can quickly reflect the rapid change in social values and at the same time the canvas offers a transparency towards the structure of the building which exposes the interior functions of the space in an attempt to create a more transparent process that remains a little behind the scenes. This idea of continuous development intends to criticize but also offers an architectural solution by engaging both government and public and promoting unity and a better communication in society.
