A HOUSE FOR A (HUMAN) STATUE
We miss the gods.
To deny it, is to deny the evidence.
But we killed them.
And we replaced them with the “stars,” that is, the human “stars.”
Until August 31st this year one can see around New York City silver statues, 10 feet tall, representing David Beckham, promoting his skintight underwear.
Athena Parthenos in the center of the Parthenon is not fashionable any longer. Nor countless statues representing angels, saints, spirits, gods, Christ, Buddha, Shiva and myriad of other representations that doubled our life with a transcendent plateau of hope and other imaginative projections.
We “progressed”…
We don’t need mystifications any longer.
We live “scientifically,” “objectively…”
We “know”…
But even Charles Darwin invoked God in his writings, if we are to only consider what he wrote in his notebooks, when thinking of having children… he wrote: "if this pleases God…!?!"
If the creator of evolutionism himself cannot avoid thinking of God, what can we say…?!?
So here we are…
Creating and displaying human statues advertising skintight underwear.
Quite a progress, no…?!?
The star descended onto the earth… tangible, all too tangible, even if only in a silver key…
How inspiring can this be…?!?
A new underwear, as if we don’t have enough of them, and as if truly matters…!?!
But at a time when the Gates foundation spends millions and millions of dollars for the poop, that is, for reinventing the toilet, why not contemplate (and if you are lucky, touch) ten feet tall silver statues of almost naked David Beckham, celebrating, o God, the sensational arrival, “on the scene,” of a new underwear…!?!
This indeed we can call progress.
So let’s celebrate this great human achievement by imagining A HOUSE FOR A (HUMAN) STATUE.
A HOUSE FOR A HUMAN “STAR.”
A house with its focus, intensely displayed, on the skintight underwear without which, obviously, our imagination collapses.
Design for our glorious present, dear architect, and then retire to a remote corner and cry… or LAUGH, LAUGH, LAUGH… in order not to cry.
Please send us ANY work, ANY size and ANY format and we will publish them. We hope the gods will be pleased, or if not the gods, per se, then the human ones…
Thank you,
