A HOUSE FOR EMINEM AND RIHANNA
Could one build a house for a song…??????????
Of course it is possible.
Arts intermingle. Arts inspire each other. And to be inspired by music, it is only normal!
Why would this recent song by Eminem inspire us…?
We think it is a great song.
It is great because it does arrive, in its own way, to that difficult conjunctio oppositorum – the conjunction of the opposites.
We do not know if indeed a volcano meets a tornado in this song, as the lyrics claim, but an enticing mixture between the masculine principle and the feminine one does take place!
There is rage, and there is love.
There is the rough, raw cadence of rap music and then there is the suave singing of Rihanna.
They complement each other beautifully and necessarily, almost.
And there is a ring of truth, in the story. The paradoxes of love. The intertwining of hate and love, of despair and hope!
Is any true relationship very much different…?
There is passion! There is wrong doing intertwined with urgent, imminent feelings of love! There is perplexity, yes, perplexity, since love is, indeed, quite perplexing.
Try, dear architect, to design A House for Eminem and Rihanna in this song:
“I love the way you lie!”
It was the dream of any alchemist to achieve the difficult, almost impossible union between the masculine and the feminine, fire and water, sun and moon, silver and mercury, day and night…
This song achieves it.
Just listen to it and DRAW, DRAW, DRAW!
Please send us ANY work, ANY size and ANY format that responds to the theme to works@icarch.us. We will publish all the works received on our website. There is an entry fee of 30€ (15€ for students) payable through the registration section of our website. The registration deadline is February 1st, 2011. The submission deadline is March 20th, 2011 (the first day of spring).
Design for Eminem and Rihanna.
Design a House for “I love the way you lie.”
Design a House for all of us, willing to fly (in the name of love), while using a cane, in the name of our limits!
Thank you,
