THE HOUSE OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS
or
a house where the sky meets the earth
Of course, this is not a new theme.
An architectural chiaroscuro…?
Yes, and we need a Rembrandt, architect!
Or a poet-architect who would say, like the poet-poet: “Darkening darkness, thus he gates of light!”
Between dark and light our life is.
And so should, perhaps, our buildings.
A wholly glassed building doesn’t know much of that darkness that is dialectally situated vis-à-vis light.
This is an alchemical attempt, of course, to arrive at Rubedo, through Nigredo and Albedo.
To Life, through death, in a way.
Die before you die! – we receive the advice from religion.
So let’s die, before we die.
Before it is too late.
Let’s plunge into darkness, in order to reach Light.
At the meeting point / line between Earth and Sky.
Is it possible…?
Yes.
Is it difficult…?
Yes.
It is advisable…?
Yes.
So let’s pierce the darkest darkness and meet, at the end of the tunnel, LIGHT.
A struggled for light!
All the more to be appreciated.
No pain, no gain – we are told.
True.
Bring suffering into that joy that, like in the "Ode to Joy", it is with great difficulties arrived at.
Plunge, dear architect, plunge.
Please send us ANY work, ANY size and ANY format. We will publish all the works received.
Thank you.
